1. What services does Whale of a Wash offer that can help save me time?

  • We offer 3 main ways you can save time on laundry needs.

    • Self Service Laundromats with large capacity washers and dryers at affordable prices.

    • Drop Off Laundry Service: Our trained and caring attendants will process your laundry for you the way you want it done. Just leave the work to us and pick up your items at another time.

    • Laundry Pickup and Delivery: Experience hassle-free laundry with our doorstep delivery service, available throughout the Greater Martinsburg, WV area. Whether you need a consistent weekly solution or just occasional assistance for those overflowing hampers, our service is designed to adapt to your schedule. Enjoy more free time as we take the laundry off your hands, right at your doorstep.

2. What do I need to do before dropping off my laundry or scheduling a pickup?

  • Please ensure that your items are devoid of any personal belongings, such as wallets, phones, or keys. Also, remove any items that you do not wish to be laundered. We recommend emptying pockets and checking for loose items. Anything we find will be returned to you as it was found.

  • Ensure your items are in a clearly marked bag (we sell those, too!) on your doorstep where our driver is sure to find it. Make sure it is ready prior to your scheduled pickup window. For example, you scheduled your pickup to happen between 10a-2p. Have everything outside before 10am!

  • Your items will be returned in clear plastic or a Whale Logo bag or a combination of both.

3. What items can I send in for full service laundry?

  • We accept a wide range of items, including clothes, bedding, towels, and linens. It is best to check with our staff if you have any unique or delicate items to ensure proper handling. You can bring in fragile items too, if you’d like to send them out to be Dry-Cleaned, we will happily accommodate that request.

  • At this time, Dry Cleaning cannot be sent in with Pickup and Delivery services. We do offer shirt service (wash, press, starch, hang) with Pickup and Delivery as well as with Drop Off.

4. How long does it take for full service laundry to be ready?

  • The turnaround time for full service laundry varies depending on the volume, type of items, and any additional services requested. Generally, it can take between 24 and 48 hours. We try our hardest to get your items back upon your requested schedule. Dry Cleaning takes 7 days to be returned to our store. Shoe repair and alterations can be between 2-4 weeks.

5. What if I have specific instructions for washing my items?

  • If you have specific instructions or preferences for washing certain items, please inform our staff at the time of drop off or pickup/delivery scheduling. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and if we have questions, we will contact you at the phone number given.

6. Can I request special treatments like ironing or stain removal?

  • Yes, we offer additional services such as ironing, stain removal, and more. Please let our staff know your requirements, and we will provide you with a quote for these services.

7. Is it safe to leave my clothes at the facility for drop-off laundry?

  • Absolutely! We have secure facilities and trained staff who handle your items with the utmost care. Our goal is to ensure the safety and cleanliness of your belongings.

8. What are the pricing options for drop-off laundry and pickup and delivery?

  • Our pricing is based on factors such as the weight of the laundry, additional services requested, and any special requirements. Please check our website or inquire at our facility for specific pricing details.

9. What if I’ve paid for stain treatment and it doesn’t come out?

  • We guarantee our best efforts in stain treatment. In fact, we love the challenges that it gives us! But, we cannot guarantee that the stain will be completely removed. We do our very best but the payment must be made in advance of the efforts.

10. How does payment work?

  • Payment is due at the time of drop off. Sometimes we will allow our customers to pay on pickup for items that might require more effort or for alterations that may be more involved. But please be prepared for payment at the time of drop off.

  • For Pickup/Delivery, a valid credit card number is due at the time of scheduling, but we charge your card only when your items have been processed and are ready for delivery. You’ll be notified at every step of the way via text message.
